The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and can close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house with a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined family income does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for nsfas application funding and want not post any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not website to wait until the last day.
Learners nsfas status do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
